Pricing is determined on a painting-by-painting basis. While I usually work on approximately a 15 x 22″ format, I’ve started doing paintings in the range of 8 x 10″ to 10 x 10″. This makes for a more affordable painting.
All commissions are done using a signed contract, with a 50% nonrefundable deposit before work begins, and the balance (nonrefundable) upon completion, before I send it.
I retain copyright and reproduction rights to the painting, and may display it on my website and marketing materials, but you will have ownership of the painting.
If you decide to commission me, please look at my work here on my website to determine if my work will meet your expectations. Because I’m using watercolor (and sometimes other media), changing colors, positioning, backgrounds, etc. will not be possible. I will send you photos of the work as it’s progressing. The color and contrast won’t be exact, but you’ll be able to get an idea of its progress. A painting can go through some scary stages, so I won’t update you during those times, unless you are brave and really, really want me to.
I also run a graphic design and web design business, and I take good care of my clients, who have been with me for years. I will try to take good care of you, too. Most paintings take between 2-4 weeks to do, give or take.
Framing and shipping prices are separate costs. If you want me to have it framed, or frame it myself, there will be an additional charge, in advance, that is nonrefundable once the frame is ordered, which I do as soon as I receive your payment. I use UPS for shipping. Once I’ve sent it, that fee is nonrefundable, too.
This info and more will be in the contract you need to sign and return with the deposit before work begins.
I accept payment via Paypal only right now. Because your painting is custom-made, PayPal will not do refunds or chargebacks if you change your mind. Their policy. I don’t pass on overpayments to third parties. Not gonna happen.
